Data Capture Using the Vaaltometer

In order to achieve OEE+, data needs to be captured efficiently at source. The Vaaltometer is a purpose built data capture unit designed to be connected directly to the machine or line.

It has built digital inputs and outputs as well as serial and ethernet communications ensuring that it can connected to any machine or line no matter how basic or sophisticated the control system.

A range of Vaaltometer HMI's (Human Machine Interface) allow the operator to view machine performance, make empowered decisions and compliment the data captured.

On board storage ensures the data captured is held robustly until it can be synchronised with the server database (SQL Server).

Configuration using 'Vaalto Visual'

Each of the Vaaltometers on the network is configured using 'Vaalto Visual'. 'Vaalto Visual' is a rich client that can be installed on any desktop PC, the look and feel is similiar to that of MS Outlook.

With 'Visual' each of the Vaaltometers can be configured for:

• System Type - i.e. I/O or PLC or Combination
• Products that the machine can run
• Events and event groups
• Analysis structures
• Working patterns i.e shifts
• Calendars - non working time
• HMI data view dashboards can be configured

Analysis - An Integrated Architecture

Report viewing is available through the 'Vaalto Visual' or via our server based reporting system where the reports are viewed in a browser.

We have created over 50 built in standard reports and real time dash board views which available for selection in both 'Visual' or via the web server. Filtering, sorting and exporting of data into Excel, PDF etc. are standard features of all our reports.

Delivery - Our server based system supports both on-demand (pull) and event-based (push) delivery of reports. Users can view reports in a Web-based format or in e-mail.

Ad-hoc Reporting - When used in conjunction with SQL Server 2005 anybody can create and deploy reports with our user-friendly enterprise data model using the Report Builder software.
